Wallan, which was originally known as Wallan Wallan, is in the Daylesford/Macedon region of Victoria just 50 kilometres north of Melbourne. Wallan, which has a population of around 8000 people, is in the southern section of the Shire of Mitchell and is located at the base of the Great Dividing Range.
