Tumut

Tumut is an attractive town of approximately 6,500 people on the boundary of the Riverina and Snowy Mountains Regions 400 kilometres south west from the New South Wales capital of Sydney. Just half an hour from the Hume Highway at Gundagai and 20 minutes east of Adelong, Tumut has a range of pet friendly accommodation venues.

Located on the Tumut River, Tumut boasts many heritage listed buildings and sites and is the headquarters for the Snowy Mountains Scheme. Due to the town featuring a number of autumn trees such as poplars, willows and elms, the display of colours during autumn is simply outstanding and this has brought about the annual Falling Leaf Festival. The area around Tumut is well known for its pine plantations.

People of note who have had connections with Tumut over years past include former New South Wales Attorney-General Reg Downing, paralympian Allan Butler, Victoria Cross recipient John Cross, former CEO of Campbell Soups Company David Johnson and rugby league players Ray Beaven, Tony Quirk and Tom Kirk.

Pet friendly accommodation in and around Tumut include maily pet friendly cottages, homesteads, pet friendly farmstays and holiday homes. Pet services, other than the pet friendly accommodation options, include pet friendly dining options, vet services, farriers, horse riding opportunities, pet and animal transport operators, pet food suppliers, pet photographers, dog grooming and washing facilities, pet monding and dog walking services and pet insurance agencies.

Tumut is a lovely town for a quiet holiday in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains so why not take a look through the listings available and reserve some future time for a relaxing holiday at Tumut.
