Rainbow Beach

In the southern area of the Fraser Coast in Queensland is beautiful Rainbow Beach with its name being derived from the rainbow colours of the sand dunes, caused by the content of minerals in the sand.

240 kilometres north of Brisbane, Rainbow Beach has a permanent population of around the 1000 mark and was not settled until 1969.
