Mudgee

Located approximately 260 kilometres north west of Sydney, Mudgee is a large town of 12,500 residents in the Central NSW Region or Cudgegong River Valley which is sometimes referred to as the Sydney Basin. Originally planned as a town in the 1820's Mudgee grew quickly as the central business and supplies town for the Gold Rush towns of Hill End, Gulgong and Windeyer in the early to mid 19th century and later in the century became the central hub for a thriving wool industry.

The average temperature in the summer months at Mudgee is around 30 degrees celsius but drops dramatically in the winter to as low as 2 or 3 degrees.
