Monbulk
Monbulk is a town in the Dandenongs and Yarra Valley region of Victoria about 40 kilometres east of the capital city of Melbourne. With a population of approximately 3,700 residents Monbulk is constructed on very rich soil which has seen the growth of orchards, fruit and vegetables and a thriving flower industry.
The Monbulk Jam Factory was a major part of the town's income for almost 100 years, beginning in 1897 and closing down in 1991 after being sold to a Queensland Company. Victoria's oldest wholesale flower dealer in Tesselaar Flowers is still a major income producer for the town.
