Lancelin

Lancelin, in Australia's Coral Coast region of Western Australia, is a fishing and tourist town approximately 130 kilometres north of Perth. 

With a population of almost 700 permanent residents Lancelin swells to around 3000 people during the summer and Easter holiday periods and pet friendly accommodation becomes very popular..

The Lancelin area was a camping place through the 1940s but began to be utilised by the crayfish or lobster fishery.

Lancelin Island Nature Reserve is offshore from the town itself and is known for its flora and fauna. Lancelin island is now a sanctuary for breeding seabirds and for resting sea lions.

The town is very popular for its kitesurfing and windsurfing, as are sandboarding and 4-wheel driving on the beaches and in the dunes behind Lancelin.
