Goolwa
Goolwa is a beautiful town about 100 kilometres south of South Australia's capital city of Adelaide and boasts a large number of pet friendly accommodation venues, mainly pet friendly holiday homes.
Together with its neighbouring towns of Victor Harbor, Middleton, Port Elliot plus Goolwa North and South and Goolwa Beach the population reaches almost 30,000 people but the town itself has about 2,500 residents. The area recently went through a sea change boom. Goolwa is also the first non-European town to be named a Cittaslow town. This happened in 2007.
Goolwa was the site of Australia's first inland port being the last port on the mighty Murray River before it flows into the sea. In 2001 a bridge was opened connecting the mainland town to Hindmarsh Island which replaced the long running cable ferry service.
Every odd year Goolwa hosts the South Australian Wooden Boat Festival and is still the home of the P.S. Oscar, one of the original paddle steamers to grace the south western end of the Murray River.
Pet friendly accommodation in Goolwa consists of pet friendly holiday homes or beach houses, pet friendly apartments and units, pet friendly caravan parks and pet friendly bed and breakfasts. Other than these pet friendly accommodation options Goolwa also has pet related services such as vets, horse riding opportunities, pet friendly dining venues, dog washing and grooming businesses, dog walking and pet minding, pet and animal transport operators, pet insurance agents and pet breeders.
Such a great place for a holiday with so much to see and do plus excellent weather just to sit and relax, Goolwa is awaiting your visit, especially the pet friendly accommodation operators, so check them out on the pet friendly pages below and make you reservation soon.
