Dargo

One of the most remote towns in Victoria is Dargo in the High Country.

With a population between 100 and 150 people Dargo is located about 350 kilometres east on Melbourne and is settled around the Dargo River. Pet friendly accommodation exists in the area with a pet friendly hotel, pet friendly cabins, pet friendly motel, pet friendly caravan park, and pet friendly bed and breakfasts and country houses.

On what is known as the Dargo High Plains the town icludes the Dargo Hotel, the Dargo Store which incorporates the Post Office and Fuel Station, the Dargo River Inn, and the Dargo Community Hall, as well as some resident's homes.

Popular activities in the Dargo area include camping, horse riding, trail-bike riding, 4 wheel driving, bushwalking, fishing and canoeing and when the sun sets it's off to the watering hole, the Dargo Hotel.

The area is mainly supported by the beef grazing and timber industries and Dargo is also an entry to the Alpine National Park, Avon Wilderness Park and Mitchell River National Park.

If you are looking for a break with a difference I would definitely recommend Dargo. Take at a look at the pet friendly accommodation within 100 kilometres on the pages below.

A Dargo experience is an absolute must.
