Cockatoo
Cockatoo is a lovely place nestled in the Dandenong Ranges of Victoria with some lovely pet friendly accommodation properties alongside the very popular Puffing Billy railway which has been running since 1962.
Cockatoo was devastated by the Ash Wednesday bushfires of 1983 with 300 houses being destroyed but has returned as an absolutely beautiful area with superb rolling countryside.
Cockatoo now has a population of 4,000 permanent residents and has retained its bush setting.
There are plenty of walking trails around Cockatoo and the pet friedly accommodation consists of pet friendly cottages, pet friendly bed and breakfasts, pet friendly lodges and pet friendly holiday homes and cabins. Other than the pet friendly accommodation mentioned there are pet related services such as vets, farriers, pet food supplies, pet photography, horse riding opportunities and dog grooming and washing services.
Cockatoo is truly a lovely place to visit and extremely popular being only a very short drive from the Melbourne outer suburbs of the east. Take a look through the pet friendly accommodation options below and make contact with the owners to reserve some time in Cockatoo.
