Branxholm is in the Northern region of Tasmania and is a small town 95 kilometres north east of Launceston on the Tasman Highway. Branxholm is a timber town nestled into the rolling hills and is notable for its sawmills and its hop fields. Branxholm was first settled in 1870 and by1883 had been proclaimed. Tin mining was popular but had declined around to be replaced by timber cutting then in 1970 the first hop fields were planted. Close to Branxholm is Mount Horror, known for excellent scenic views.
