Bega

Bega, in the South Coast, Sapphire Coast, Bega Valley region of New South Wales, was first settled in the 1830's and became a well known area for dairy and cattle farming.

With a population of just below 5,000 people Bega is now known worldwide for the production of cheese with the Bega Cheese brand seen on almost every supermarket shelf in Australia and many overseas as well.

Bega is the central town for a very attractive and popular area for tourists and has landmarks such as the Bega Court House and Rosevear Jeweller's shopfront which are both listed on the Register of the National Estate.
