Ararat

Ararat is a city that some people say is in the Central Highlands region of Victoria and others say is in the Grampians region.

With a population of approximately 8500 people Ararat is quite a busy part of the region. Ararat is approximately 200 kilometres west of Melbourne on the Western Highway and is on the eastern slopes of the Ararat Hills.

Ararat is the largest residential and commercial settlement in the City of Ararat local government area and is the administrative centre. It is very popular for its range of pet friendly accommodation.
