Description

Living Areas

The central hub of this house would have to be the beautiful large kitchen and dining area, with its vaulted ceilings and feature pendant lights. The fully equiped kitchen is an entertainers dream with ample bench space, walk in pantry, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, sandwich press and large 900mm oven and stove. As for coffee, yes... we have you covered. There is a DeLonghi pod machine for you caffeine addicts, though you'll need to bring your own pods.  There is a long breakfast bar also, with two timber stools, encouraging conversations over dinner prep, whether you are cooking up a storm or serving up some local takeaway! 

There is a beautiful large dining table with seating for 8, overlooking the outdoor deck. In fact, the bifold doors to the deck open up the entire space to the outdoors, giving the space a real resort feel. The space is large, yet private, though with a lull in conversation, you will be able to hear the roar of the ocean wafting through. It's unlikely though that quiet will prevail for long as the space encourages long conversation and renewed relationships over good food and wine. There is a reverse cycle split system air conditioner located in the kitchen/dining room to keep the area a pleasant temperature all year round.

In the next room is a cosy lounge with log fire, also overlooking the deck. This room also has bifold doors, so can be opened right up in the warmer months or kept cosy by the fire in winter. There is a large wall mounted TV here with Telstra TV, giving you access to your Stan or Netflix accounts as well as catchup TV. The kids will enjoy lounging on beanbags, playing the Xbox 360 and playing music through the Sonos wireless speaker. There are also some board games in the kitchen (above the fridge) for good old fashioned entertainment - will it be kids vs adults or girls vs boys?

Bedrooms

The master bedroom is located at the front of the property and has a king size bed, walk in robe and an ensuite. There is another reverse cycle split system air conditioner in the master bedroom. The other two bedrooms are located at the other end of the house, off the lounge room. One of the bedrooms has a queen size bed, built in wardrobe and wall heater. The other bedroom, more suited to kids, has 2 bunk beds and a build in wardrobe.

Note: There is a double sofa bed in the lounge which could potentially be used instead of the bunks to make the property more suitable for 3 couples. Please ask us if you would like to add this option to your booking.

Bathrooms

This property has two bathrooms: one ensuite and one main bathroom. The main bathroom has an open walk-in shower with large rainfall shower head and hand basin. There is also a separate toilet with its own hand basin.

Laundry

There is a full laundry in the property with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.

Outdoor Living

A wonderful feature of this property is the large, elevated and secluded outdoor deck. This is almost the first thing the greets you as you arrive at the property. From the carport, is a gate that leads you up a few stairs, onto the deck and to the front door. The deck runs almost the length of the house from the front door, past the kitchen/dining area to the back of the lounge room. From there, another set of stairs lead you back down into the back yard which is where you'll find a lovely outdoor shower. The perfect spot to de-sand after a day on the beach. The deck itself is enclosed by trees and shrubs on two sides and a timber screen on the third side. The house opens itself up to the outdoors with its bifold doors from the dining area and lounge room. On the deck is a large outdoor lounge, complete with fresh herb planters and an enormous timber coffee table. Bring on the nibblies! Make the most of being in this amazing food and wine region and sample the local flavours. There is enough room here to spread out a magnificent charcuterie board or cheese platter to die for and a glass or two of your favourite Mornington Peninsula wine. Of course, there's a BBQ too, if you have enough appetite left for a real dinner.

Please note that the property welcomes pets with a good sized back garden with plenty of lawn.  Pets are welcome inside. Please bring your own bedding and bowls.  Do not allow pets on furniture or beds.

Activities in the area

The property is moments away from Rye Ocean Beach and the surrounding National Park perfect for surfing, fishing and walking but it is not a swimming beach.  

This is a golfer dream as close by are many renowned golf courses, The Dunes golf course and St Andrews Golf course are practically next door and just a few minutes away are Eagle Ridge Golf Course and Cape Schanck and The National to name just a few.

Just 10 minutes inland is the Red Hill hinterland with your choice of up to 60 wineries plus gourmet producers.  The property is only a few minutes drive to the Peninsula Hot Springs, horseriding at either Ace-Hi or Gunnamatta and more surfing on Gunnamatta beach.  Take the kids to the Enchanted Adventure Gardena and the Sea Eagle chairlift for some thrills during their stay.

Explore Sorrento Village just 15 minutes away with its art and craft galleries, antique shops, the Sorrento Hotel and lots of yummy cafes.
